You can now delete your child's data, or your whole account
Parents can ask us to delete one child's data or their entire account. There is a 7-day wait so you can change your mind.
Your child's learning data belongs to your family. You could already download a complete copy. Now you can also request its deletion, without emailing anyone.
How it works
There are two separate options. To delete one child's data, open their settings and scroll to the bottom. To delete your whole account, including every child, open the Account page.
To confirm, you type your child's name (or "delete my account") and a code from your authenticator app. This stops anyone who gets hold of your phone or laptop from deleting things by accident or on purpose.
Why there is a wait
Nothing is deleted for 7 days. We email you straight away with the date, and a banner on your page lets you cancel with one click. If you didn't make the request, that email is your warning. After 7 days, the deletion runs automatically and we email you again to confirm.
What is deleted and what is kept
We delete the profile, the sign-in, every answer, every session and all progress information. If your child was in the pilot study, we delete their study answers too. We keep only which group their study place belonged to, with no link to your child, so the study can count fairly how many families left each group.
We keep a short security log recording that a deletion happened. It contains no names and no answers. Backups that might still hold your data expire within 90 days.
