The first version is ready for our pilot families

Children can now sign in, do a short check-in and practise P3 to P6 Maths in timed blocks. Parents can see what was practised and change the plan.

Today we finished the first working version of Math Revision. It is not open to the public yet. A small group of pilot families will use it first, and we will change it based on what they tell us.

Here is what you can do with it today.

For parents

You create an account, confirm you are the parent or guardian, and add your child. We ask for a first name, school level, birth month and year, and a username and password that you choose. We do not ask for your child's school, email or phone number.

Your child's page shows:

  • how many minutes they practised this week, against the plan you set
  • each Maths topic, marked as not tried, too early to tell, needs practice, getting there or secure
  • how many questions each of those labels is based on, so you know how far to trust it
  • the kinds of mistakes that keep coming up, such as misreading the question or slips in a method
  • the last few sessions, how each one ended, and what your child said about it

You can change the session length, the weekly hours, the study days, the daily limit, break reminders and quiet hours. You can also download all of your child's data as a file.

If you pick P1 or P2, we tell you it is not ready yet and offer to email you when it is. We do not make up a plan for a level we have not built.

For children

The first session is a 12-question check-in. There is no score at the end. It tells us which topics to start with.

After that, each session is 15, 20, 30 or 45 minutes. Questions come one at a time on a big card. A hint is there if they want it. After each answer they see whether it was right, the worked solution, and a tip if we can tell what went wrong. When the time is up, the session ends. They can pause or finish early at any point, and nothing bad happens.

Every question has a small "Why this question?" link. It says things like "This practises Fraction of a group, at a good next step for you."

What sits underneath

  • 300 questions across 22 topics, from P3 adding and taking away up to P6 ratio and circles. We wrote all of them ourselves, so there are no copyright questions about past papers.
  • Each question has a marking rule, a worked solution, and notes on the common wrong answers.
  • Answers are marked by fixed rules, not by AI. A fraction like 6/8 counts as equal to 3/4, and if the question asks for simplest form we say so.
  • Every answer is saved and never changed. The progress labels are worked out from those answers, so we can always rebuild them and check them.
  • Questions are picked one by one. We look at topics your child has not yet got secure, topics that are due for a quick review, and topics that need an earlier step first. Then we pick a question your child should get right about 7 times in 10.

What we left out on purpose

There are no streaks, points, prize boxes or leaderboards. There is no endless list of questions. Missed days do not pile up as catch-up work.

What is next

Before any real child data goes in, parents will need to confirm their email and use two-step sign-in. After that we plan a weekly email for parents, timed mini mock papers for P5 and P6, and a gentler first session for children who are not keen to start.
